My first trip to Dubai was in 2023 and it was my first ever trip to the Middle East! I had just spent the last 4 months working in a Ski Resort in Switzerland and was looking for a warm place to thaw out for a couple of weeks! I’ve been wanting to meet up with my childhood best friend who had been living there for 3 years and thought this was the perfect time to visit.
Without any prior knowledge of Dubai other than it being hot year-round, I must say it completely blew me away! This country is completely different from any city, culture, or landscape I have ever seen before. We tried different Indian and Pakistani cuisines, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, went kayaking in Hatta, rode on the top of dunes in the desert, and went to the top of the tallest building in the world: Burj Khalifa.
There are so many things to look at from the glitz and glamour of fashion, cars, and luxury living to the scenic nature of beaches and lakes. This city is filled with people from around the world from so many different cultural backgrounds. Surrounded by vast deserts as far as the eye can see, Dubai feels like you are on another planet.
