How are you able to travel so often?
This is one of our most asked questions! We’re both in our early 20’s and have decided to prioritize traveling before our lives take off. As of now, we are living at home and working very flexible/ seasonal jobs. Saving on rent has been KEY, but we also save SO much doing the little things.
Deciding your wants from your needs is KEY! Ask yourself: Do I need this t-shirt, or do I have a similar one at home already? Buying unnecessary materialistic items are a huge money sucker! Both of us lead a pretty minimalist life, buying only things that we absolutely NEED at a certain point in time. These little things allow us to save up a TON for our travels.
Not to say we don’t enjoy the fruits of our labor, but the cost of unnecessary materialistic things do add up! Get your priorities in line with your goals and make it happen!
Tips for saving up for a trip?
- Cut down on unnecessary costs where you can (nails, Uber, eating out, etc.)
- Ask yourself when buying things: Do I WANT this item or NEED it?
- Save between 5-10% of your paycheck each month, or however much you can. $20 is better than nothing! Start somewhere.
